Baby Makes Three (25 Weeks)

Hunter Grayson Granados Due 09-12-2013
Be proud of your bump!
How Far Along? 25 Weeks

Baby Size: Eggplant est. 9 inches & 1.7 pounds (according to What To Expect iPhone app)

Clothing: While I haven't added anything new to my wardrobe, I have out grown my first pair of maternity pants. They were these awesome capri's that but my belly has officially outgrown them. I didn't even think that was possible. With my sister's wedding next weekend I had to find a matron of honor dress that would fit me at 26 weeks (Thank you Kohl's) and it was delivered this week. It's super cute and I can even wear it again throughout the pregnancy! I also had to find a dress for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Why so may outfits!! Well, I was able to still fit into my purple dress that I wore to Heather & Trevor's wedding (November 2011). I'm pretty sure I was doing a happy dance!

See why I'm so excited!
Stretch Marks: Not yet and trying to keep it that way. Still using my Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula For Stretch Marks Lotion at least twice a day. You can find it at Walmart for around $5. One of my pregnant friends was referred to try Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Tummy Butter and I'm going to try to pick that up today since it has a lavender scent so I'm going to use it at night before bed.

Sleep: I'm still not getting as much sleep as I should. With being on bed rest the majority of the week I've been getting a nap here or there. I'm just hoping the braxton hicks ease up at night so I can rest.

Best Moment This Week: I believe it was Tuesday night. Jordan was trying to get hunter to move since he is no able to see the movement. He talks to my belly and was poking it and he said kick me and wouldn't you know, Hunter kicked me the hardest he has ever kicked. We both laughed about how  Hunter was trying to say stop annoying me Dad!

Labor Signs: Ehh. You know just the two hospital trips, the practically week long bed rest, contractions for 5 days straight, and the occasional braxton hicks now. I wouldn't say to much out of the ordinary... (sarcasm, pure sarcasm)

Belly Button In Or Out: I'm still rocking my inny!

Miss Anything? Sleep.

Movement:  He is moving all the freaking time now. Since my placenta is anterior he kicks super low, and when I mean low, I mean low (if you catch my drift). He loves to kick the bladder and lately he loves to kick me basically in the cha cha. You can now see it when he kicks or shifts, which is pretty awesome but definitely creepy too.

Food Cravings: Frozen pancakes! I am just loving those at the moment especially Odom's Sausage & Maple Pancake snack size sandwiches. It's like pure heaven from the first bite to the last.

Swelling: None this week or at the moment! I guess because I've been on bed rest most of the week.

Symptoms: See Labor Sign. I'm having the occasional braxton hicks, horrible back pain, muscle stretching, etc. It has been a rather painful week.

Moods: With all that has been going on I haven't had to many mood swings. I've mostly been worrying about keeping little Hunter in as long as I can.

Looking Forward To: The pain to stop. I know not all the pain will stop until he gets her but really, can it ease up just a little bit, please! WE ARE PICKING UP THE CRIB AND NEW DRESSER/CHANGING TABLE ON SUNDAY! We got an amazing deal and both items are brand new, never been used! This weekend is insane with what's going on so it is sad I'm also looking forward to Monday? My sister's lingerie shower is Saturday as well as her best friend's graduation party and she graduates high school on Sunday! Busy, busy, busy!

Bed Rest, Bed Rest, & More Bed Rest

As much as I love you baby boy, you need to stay in there a little longer.
Friday, we had another visit to the hospital because I was still having contractions. This time we went Florida Hospital Altamonte, which was the best decision we could of made. If we would of went there Thursday night we would not of had to go again on Friday. Nothing will ever compare to Florida Hospital Altamonte. The staff and they way they treated us was amazing! We were admitted around 1pm and you know what, they didn't make me walk up to labor & delivery.

After all the paperwork and getting put on monitors we had our answer in a matter of an hour or so. The reason for my contractions? A FREAKING BLADDER INFECTION. The nurses were shocked as we were as well because the DeLand Hospital didn't run my urine test to determine that. If they would of just ran that one simple test, I wouldn't have been in the hospital for 7 hours for a second day in a row. Once we had our answers all we had to wait was for the pharmacy at the hospital to receive my antibiotic shot I needed for the infection. It took the pharmacy over 4 hours to get the shot. I honestly didn't mind the wait because of how amazing the staff was, they kept us updated, and they even gave us dinner. It wasn't much: turkey sandwich, pudding, and apple juice. It's the thought that counts especially since it was a RN that brought it to us and even brought Jordan some. When I finally received the shot (most painful burning sensation ever) we were finally able to leave with the hope that we won't have to be back in labor & delivery until it's time to actually meet our baby boy this fall.

Now that we know what is causing my pain, discomfort, and random contractions, my mind is at ease (somewhat). I'm not rushing to the hospital at the contractions I am still having today because once the infection is gone then the contractions and discomfort should disappear. It doesn't help that I'm on bed rest memorial day weekend and when my husband who works 12-15 hour days has a 4 day weekend.

So expect non stop pinning on pinterest, random acts of craziness, and crazy blogging updates in the next few days!

XOXO

How About We Let You Cook A Little Longer Baby Boy?

Breathe just breathe, It'll all be worth it in the long run.

Yesterday was a roller coaster and even with a day like yesterday I still haven't let myself get down. We had quite a little scare yesterday with our baby boy.

On Wednesday afternoon I took a small fall. I was at the door with my sisters Australian Shepard (Cinnamon) on leash in one hand, holding her Pomeranian (Cicely) puppy , and holding a bag of items to return at the mall for her wedding. As soon as I opened the door my Siberian Husky (Thor) bolted.
This is the little devil himself. Isn't he adorable?
In the process, he tripped me. With me being so clumsy and off balance with this giant soccer ball underneath my shirt, I fell with my back against the doorway and continued down to the ground. I didn't land on my stomach so I didn't think anything of it. My back has been hurting so that's all I thought it was.

Well, hours later the cramping started.  I just came home and slept it off the rest of the evening. The next morning they were still there, so the google search began. I tried stretching, laying in different positions, a warm bath, drinking more water, and increasing my potassium intake (it's a good thing I like bananas). Nothing worked. As the day went on the cramps increased so I decided that when I go and pick my husband up from work we would go straight to the ER.

I'm not really a fan of Florida Hospital DeLand but since Florida Hospital Fish Memorial doesn't have a maternity ward and I didn't feel like driving to Daytona, I had no choice. We walked in, registered, got the annoying arm band, and was admitted to labor & delivery. The person registering us asked me if I could walk, I said yes. Well, she gave me directions on how to get up to labor & delivery and I WALKED MYSELF UP TO THE THIRD FLOOR! I was not a happy camper!

They put the baby heart monitor on Baby Granados and the contraction monitor on me. Hunter didn't like the heart monitor one bit. He would move away from it and then the annoying beeping would start. He hated that even more. He was punching and kicking and doing straight up karate. Jordan was even able to see the punches on my stomach! The nurse decided that he was healthy so I could have to monitor taken off since we couldn't track the cramping real well because of how active he was. As soon as he had the monitor off of him, he settled down.

After we got Hunter to settle down, now the mission began to figure out what was going on with mommy. I was having some abnormalities on the monitor so now they were determining whether they were contractions, ligament stretching which is causing the cramping, or I may have just strained a ligament in the fall. CONTRACTIONS!! Not Braxton Hicks contractions like I have been having but real contractions. Apparently, I have been having contractions on and off for 24 hours. Yikes!! Way to scare a momma!!
Still with the caulk on his hands, straight from work.
They wanted to monitor me a little longer. The nurse checked my cervix and it was closed. The pre-term labor swab came back negative so there is a 99% chance I won't be going into active pre-term labor within the next two weeks. After an hour or so of monitoring and blood pressure dropping it turns out I was having contractions,

Long story short, I received some medicine to stop the contractions. That medicine absolutely sucks! The needle is bad but that medicine burns going into your system. We were able to get the contractions to stop and were discharged.

I am now unable to go to the Ft. Myers  show this weekend with my family but that's fine because I'm on strict orders to rest. They didn't classify it as bed rest but I'm going to be laying around the house all weekend to let my body recover and heal. False labor and some strained ligaments are no fun.

Thank you to everyone who kept my little family in your prayers.

XOXO

Baby Makes Three (24 Weeks)

Hunter Grayson Granados Due 09-12-2013
Look! I'm not in sweats!
How Far Along? 24 Weeks

Baby Size: Ear Of Corn est. 8.5 inches & 1.5 pounds (according to What To Expect iPhone app)

Clothing: I actually bought me a pair of LEGGINGS this past weekend. Yes, you read correctly. I am now the owner of a pair of leggings. Megan Parker from Shooting star, breaking the mold was ecstatic when she found out. I'm still getting use to wearing what should be classified as cotton super glued onto your skin but they are comfortable. But, I will never wear LEGGINGS AS PANTS unless I am going to bed or doing yoga.

Stretch Marks: I believe I have one little patch. I'm not sure yet but I know I can't escape them forever. I am still using my Palmer's Cocoa Butter religiously like it's holy water. Morning, Noon, & Night I'm slathering myself up with that wonderful concoction.

Sleep: I'm actually starting to enjoy it again. It's harder to sleep than before but I'm enjoying every second of it. I really have to start getting more sleep though, some days I'm like a walking zombie. Last night was the best sleep I have had in a long time. Sleep is my escape from the physical pains of pregnancy. My mind set is, if I'm sleeping then I don't feel the pain.

Best Moment This Week: Jordan finally felt Hunter move! Hunter was very active yesterday morning and the hubby was finally able to feel his son. Jordan kept trying to get Hunter to move more and more so he could feel more. It doesn't feel real until the father can feel and relate that there is an actual baby in there and someone didn't just put a picture up on the T.V. during the ultrasound.

Boy or Girl: Baby Granados is definitely a boy!

Belly Button In Or Out? Out. I don't think my belly button will ever "pop" even though it is pretty scarred from the pregnancy already.

Movement: More and more everyday! Jordan can now feel the strong kicks and punches and he can't wait until he can physically see them. Hunter moves mainly when I'm laying down on my back.
Update: As soon as I posted this I was physically able to see him kick me! My whole stomach moved!

Food Cravings: Olives, Salad with Olive Garden italian dressing, and Apple Juice. Hunter loves his apple juice.

Have You Started To Show Yet? I believe the picture can answer for yourself. I just wonder how far my stomach can stretch. The belly is getting rounder and bigger everyday.

Swelling: The only swelling I have noticed is when I'm on my feet for too long and my right hand if I also use it for too long (like typing this blog). Hello massage and ice/heat packs tonight.

Symptoms: I have a slight appetite back from last week which is good because I do love my food. My back pain is still here and seems like it will never go away. The newest symptom is cramps! I hated cramps before and I hate them even more now. I've been having some slight to moderate cramping since yesterday afternoon. They have intensified today so a trip to the ER may be in my future tonight if they don't stop.

Moods: I've noticed that I get offended rather easy at the moment. I'm like a Mama Bear ready to attack. I use to not get offended as easily but any little thing can offend me now. Call me crazy and call me hormonal, you're probably right. There is this secret mommy group on Facebook with a bunch of local mothers and mothers to be. It is a place to sell baby stuff, vent, ask for help, opinions, and basically anything baby. I've had to hold my tongue on some of the subject because every mother out their has their right to their own opinion and can voice it. A mother can be the most opinionated person you know. Just because I don't agree with it doesn't mean I'm going to bash you on Facebook. Well, sometimes I can't hold my tongue like today. Just look at the Facebook post (pictured below). I've colored out the pictures and name for privacy.
Yeah, that happened!
That status update just ticked me off so much. I went to high school with this girl, keyword went! We graduated 2010 and have now been out of high school for 3 years. We are all in our twenties and what happens when you're in your twenties? You get married and have kids. Well most of us. I love my son and my family and I have the same right to post statuses about them as much as you have the right to post statuses about parties and booze. My life is my family so therefore that's what I post. I've seen countless posts like this from people I went to high school with. If you aren't happy with what I post then just delete me. I didn't mind all the comments on their but I would just like to let everyone know who depends on birth control, BIRTH CONTROL IS NOT 100% EFFECTIVE! This was how I was blessed with my little bundle of joy. Just because some people get the luck of the draw and their eggo doesn't get preggo doesn't mean people don't know what it is.

Looking Forward To: This weekend we will be traveling to Ft. Myers for a dog show and I'll be selling my paracord dog collars, leashes, and accessories. I'm really excited to also start planning for our Dr. Seuss themed baby shower and plan out the nursery! I want to speed up so I can see my son but I also want to cherish these last few weeks as I'm inching closer and closer to that dreaded third trimester.

There's Always A Rainbow After It Rains

Shelby from Nystroms and Nugget. came to visit me today!

I can't even begin to explain how much of a roller coaster life was last week. Last week was full of hormones, mood swings, and unpacking stress. I don't think anything can ruin this week and it's only Tuesday! I'm just going to give you a day by day playbook of what's been going on since Sunday!

SUNDAY (Let The Baby Registry Begin)
We are officially registered at TargetWalmart, and on Babyli.st! I don't know when you last walked thru the baby section but I was in shock! There is so many things, gadgets, and whatchamacallits. Some are pure genius and others you just want to shake your head at. I had my mind made up when my husband and I walked in that I wouldn't go to crazy on the registry. I scanned a few items before Jordan stole the scanner and started acting like he was on the M.I.B ride and all the price tags were little aliens that were going to suck out your brain! Sound effects were made along with several laughs. The most disturbing thing that I did see was the following.
As much as I love my son, I don't think I will ever have the stomach to do this. I'm just going to stick with the blue boogie bulb they give you in the hospital. If any of you plan on going to register at Target soon, I suggest opening up the goodie bag first because they have a list of all the suggested items. We are just beginning the registry at Walmart (we're still working on that registry) because they have some items that Target doesn't have which sucks because I love Target baby but Walmart is a lot more budget friendly even though I don't think the words baby and budget friendly go together in anyway.

Now, I'm not going to go into full detail about my new favorite site since that's a whole nother (I don't that's gramatically correct--- oh well) post. To the inventor of babyli.st, I bow down to you. If you have ever been pregnant then you know about the pregnancy brain. Babyli.st is like pinterest for registries. You download the "Add to BabyList" button into your toolbar and you can "pin" items from different websites onto one registry. You get a customizable url that you can share via facebook or give out on your invites. It's just fantastic. You can organize the pins into categories and it's easy to check off when someone buys an item. Favorite site ever!!

Monday (Finally Unpacked)
We are officially unpacked 100% and organized! I have caught up on all of the laundry and basically the only dirty clothes we have are the clothes we are wearing! I have the nursery cleared of all moving boxes so I can actually start making it look like a nursery! I put together the changing table so now people won't see it as just another empty room with pieces of wood on the floor. All we are waiting for is the nightstand and TV we left in NC which will be down here in a week or so!
There's just something about a splash of yellow. I think it's thanks to Heather Burris at Tickled Yellow!
"From there to here, from here to there, baby things are everywhere!"

Tuesday (Nystroms and Nugget. & The Doctor All In One Day)
Today, I was honored with the presence of Shelby and her husband Josh today. They are expecting a little chicken nugget this winter. Shelby is 10 weeks behind me so I guess I'm going to be the experimental mother. If I find an easier way to handle things then she'll know and won't have to go through trial and error the first time around. She'll thank me later.
With 3 dogs running around like crazy fighting over toys, with it raining cats and dogs outside, and with the pomeranian chasing the husky around the couch it's a miracle we were able to have a conversation. We vented about all of our pregnancy stories and it was nice to finally talk to someone other than a dog or my family in person! I feel like a normal person again that has friends and not someone who is stuck in the house day after day. Jordan has been working 12 plus hour days so it gets pretty lonely. We talked about bumps, how we found out we were pregnant, and of course everything to do with babies! I was actually able to show off the nursery, our cozy bathroom, and our amazing backyard! It's nice to have a friend that can relate to pregnancy brain and all things baby.
I also finally got the call that I've been waiting for. I finally heard back from the doctor's office that I've been waiting to approve my medical records for weeks! I go to the doctor June 6th to check up on little Hunter. I've never been so excited for an appointment. I hope they do an ultrasound to check up on my cyst and of course the little bundle of joy.

I just hope the rest of the week goes as smoothly as the last few days. I have plenty to look forward to this week. Tomorrow I'm catching up with another high school friend and I finally get to meet her gorgeous  5 1/2 month old princess. Thursday I'm packing for the dog show in Ft. Myers which will be Jordan's first. Friday we are on the road with the family to the show where we will be selling all of our homemade goodies from all natural treats to paracord collars and leashes to show leads! I just hope the weeks after this keep getting better as we are getting closer and closer to meeting our prince!

Baby Makes Three (23 Weeks)

Hunter Grayson Granados Due 09-12-2013
I really should start dressing cuter for pictures.

How Far Along? 23 weeks

Baby Size: Papaya est. 8 inches & 1.2 pounds (according to what to expect iPhone app)

Total Weight Gain: around 6 pounds

Clothing: I’ve finally gotten use to maternity clothes and I never thought I would be saying this but I prefer them now. While I can still wear the one good pair of jeans (with the rubber band) I have left from pre-pregnancy, Goodwill and yard sales are little slices of heaven on Earth. The first time I walked into Motherhood I was shocked at what they were asking for an article of clothing. As soon as I walk in to Goodwill I head straight for the maternity section. On my last trip I walked out with a brand new pair of pants, 3 shirts, and a nice little black dress all for $20. While I love Goodwill I did give in and let Jordan buy me a pair of gray jeggings.

Stretch Marks: Nope! I’m using Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula for Stretch Marks religiously. In the morning, after the shower, before bed, and basically anytime I think about it.

Sleep: The word I love and hate at the same time. My husband and I have always been some sort of night owls so we rarely get to bed before eleven. Now he has to wake up between 4:30 and 5:30 in the morning Monday thru Friday and sometimes on Saturday depending on what work there is to be done at his new job. So I’m up bright and early and then it takes a few hours to fall back asleep.

Best Moment This Week: We moved into our new house! Well, we are renting with my sister and her fiance but it’s still a house to call a HOME. We have a back yard, our own bathroom, our own room with our own stuff, and our soon to arrive baby boy has his own room!

Miss Anything? Being able to wear cute bras! Why do most budget maternity/nursing bras have to be so ugly and have no support? If anyone has any tips for this please help!

Movement: The position of my placenta has kept me from feeling him move until last week but he’s really active now when I’m lying on my back in the early mornings or when I first wake up. While Jordan hasn’t been able to feel him kick, he has been able to feel the baby when he's pressing up against my skin.

Food Cravings: I’ve really lost my appetite this week so I’ve been forcing myself to eat basically. I do crave chocolate milk though oh and don't forget about frosted flakes with extra sugar and fresh banana slices in the morning!

Have You Started To Show Yet? Oh my goodness yes! I feel as if my belly can’t stretch anymore.

Swelling: I’ve noticed a little in my feet when I’m on my feet more than usual. Wedding ring and band are still a tad too big.

Symptoms: Back pain, braxton hicks, depression, anxiety, you name it I got it. Monday was really bad though. I was having either really strong braxton hicks or contractions but didn’t want to ruin my sister’s graduation dinner so I sucked it up and didn’t go to the hospital. Everything turned out okay once we got home and I was able to rest.

Moods: I started to become a little depressed this week because I'm stuck in the house all day and being pregnant in Florida is miserable in this heat. I’ve learned to focus my energy on the little bundle of joy even though I’ve had some anxiety about not having everything ready for the baby. Things are looking up though!

Looking forward to: We’re registering this weekend! I’m looking forward to putting the crib together when we get it and just getting everything ready for Hunter in his Dr. Seuss theme nursery. "A person's  a person no matter how small." -Dr.Seuss (Horton Hears A Who)

Just A Little Update (Moving, Graduations, Baby, and Wedding)

            Home Sweet Home

I haven't forgot about the blog for the few that follow. Life has just been super super hectic. We have moved into our new house over the weekend and I will be doing a new house blog this week once we get everything unpacked. Jordan has settled into his new job, Ashlee graduates college this week, and then she'll graduate high school June 2nd. Ashlee & Andrew's wedding is less than a month away. We have to get the house in order, the backyard in order (when I post pictures you'll understand), finish the nursery, and figure out where everyone is sleeping by June. There is so much to do in so little time!

I'm also going to start doing weekly pregnancy updates on here to keep everyone who wants to keep updated with all the planning of little Hunter Granados. Look for one on Thursday!

XOXO
