Baby Makes Three (31 Weeks)

Hunter Grayson Granados Due 09-12-2013

How Far Along? 31 Weeks & 3rd Trimester
Baby Size: Head of Lettuce est. 18 inches & 3.2 pounds (according to What To Expect iPhone app)

Total Weight Gain: 15 pounds ( I haven't gained anything since my last appointment according to their scales.

What Are The Doctors Saying? I went for an ultrasound and check up this week while I was 30 weeks & 6 days. The ultrasound went fantastic! Baby Hunter is weighing in around 3 pounds & 11 ounces. My ovarian cyst is still measuring as large as ever but it's not growing or shrinking. I believe this will be my last ultrasound before Hunter comes unless I schedule a 4D one like I want too. Hunter is in the head down position and the ultrasound tech said he may stay like that for the rest of the pregnancy so we're getting closer and closer to meeting our baby boy! At my check up the doctor said I haven't gained anything since my last check up 3 weeks prior. Nothing really special happened except that Jordan was able to come to both appointments! I have been feeling really sick and not normal the last few weeks as many as you know and we finally have an answer! Somehow I have had a GI bug and gave it to Jordan. It has definitely been rough with both of us being sick. Next appointment we are going over my birth plan, getting an exam to check for anything that shows signs of early labor & antibiotics I'll need during labor, and hopefully see some weight gain.

Symptoms: Sore feet. Lower back pain. Abdominal pressure. GI bug (I'm not going to go into details here) for my husband and I. It gets really bad at night with the pressure and sharp pains but my doctor has reassured me that it is normal with the GI bug and all my organs repositioning.

Movement: We still have a little ninja on our hand. He's becoming more active in different positions but his favorite seems to be when I'm laying on my side. Hunter loves to hear his daddy talk and "play" with him. Jordan will poke my belly and wait to feel and see another poke from his son. Just to see the smile that comes up on his face especially when Jordan gets really close to my stomach to talk to Hunter in spanish/english.

Best Moment This Week: Having Jordan at my appointments this week was definitely the best moment. With his old work schedule he hasn't been able to come to any ultrasounds or appointments since my 19 week check up in North Carolina. This may have been our last ultrasound before our son arrives and it meant a lot that Jordan was able to be there.

Food Cravings: Cereal, Cereal, Cereal, and more cereal. I think I personally go through about 2 boxes in a week. Thank god I have started a little cereal stockpile thanks to couponing and I don't have to have Jordan run out to the store for a box.

Swelling: I have had no swelling except for my feet after a grocery shopping trip this week. My feet are the only things that are swelling but it's only when I'm on them for too long. Let's hope it stays this way!

Looking Forward To: We have a date set, a place, and the menu planned for the baby shower on July 21st! I can't wait for my seusstastic baby shower!

Until Next Time
XOXO

Saving My Family One Dollar At A Time

If you are my friend on Facebook or you follow me on Instagram then you know that I have started couponing. Every week we were getting these coupons and basically throwing them away. Even if I only save us $5.00 a week that's $5 we didn't have to spend but I've been saving a lot more than that. I'm in the process of writing a post on How To coupon and what I've found that works for my family. That will be coling in the next week probably on Monday after Sunday's inserts come in the mail.

I almost shop exclusively at Winn-Dixie for groceries since you can earn fuel perks which help you save while filling up.  You earn $0.05 for every $50 you spend, $0.10 for every $25 in baby items if you are part of the Baby Club, and then each week they have bonus fuel perks where you can earn between $0.03 and $0.25 on qualifying items. They also all last until the end of the next month and roll over on purchases. Why wouldn't you want to save on Gas?

I do shop on occasion at Publix because they have store coupons which you can stack with a manufacture coupon. Also, I shop at Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree. Dollar General & Family Dollar also have store coupons which lead to FREE items.

Baby Makes Three (30 Weeks)

Hunter Grayson Granados Due 09-12-2013
I Hope Everyone Had A Great 4th Of July!

How Far Along: 30 Weeks & 3rd Trimester (We are 75% of the way through)

Baby Size: Butternut Squash est. 17 inches & 3.1 pounds (according to What To Expect iPhone app)

Total Weight Gain: 15 pounds (163)

Clothing: I have actually added to my clothing collection this week thanks to my amazing husband and my wonderful parents. Last Thursday at 29 weeks my mother took me shopping where I picked out a new shirt and a new blue/white maxi dress. Now, Jordan completely shocked me last weekend when we were at Walmart and he just randomly told me that he wanted to buy me a new dress because a pretty girl deserved a pretty dress as well as a new bra. As many of you fellow preggies know, a new bra is like getting a new BMW while pregnant. I was so excited at the fact he even managed to help me pick some out to try on. When I couldn't decide he let me keep both of the ones that fit! I seriously have the best husband ever!
Shelby and I have no pregnancy filter!

Stretch Marks: I have no clue. Some days I feel like I see them and others I don't. I still have my little patch of veins but I'm not really freaking out.

Sleep: With having Jordan at home this week we both have caught up on much needed sleep. I haven't felt this rested in weeks. I do have the occasional nights where I have to get up every hour or so to use the bathroom. I'm going to have to get use to sleepless night though so it's okay.

Movement: We have an acrobat on our hands. Other people can now see when Hunter punches and rolls. It's pretty crazy how active he is nowadays.

Best Moment This Week: We found a place to have the baby shower! The date is set! The time is set! I just can't wait to share how excited we are for our little Hunter to enter the world with our family and friends. Also, with Jordan's new job and his set hours I was able to actually schedule a birth center tour at our hospital we are going to deliver at on Monday! This week has been amazing and I know each week following will keep getting better and better.

Swelling: Same as always. I'm trying to stay off my feet as much as possible because my feet has been feeling awful lately and will swell if I'm on them to much.

Symptoms: I have been sick on and off the past two weeks. I haven't had many food cravings this week because my goal is to just keep the food down. Somedays were successful while others it was like I was battling food poisoning all day. Let's just say it was not pretty.

Looking Forward To: Two Things: BABY SHOWER & BIRTH CENTER TOUR

Until Next Time
XOXO

You Just Gotta Trust In HIM

My absolutely wonderful, amazing, hardworking husband!

Before I get started I would just like to say that I am so proud of my husband. I definitely have the best one out there. He stood up for his family this week and turned a could be horrible situation into some quality time together. I will be doing a combined 29/30 week update later today as well.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
Jordan came home on Thursday (6/29) evening and told me that he has lost his job (the job where his iPhone was stolen the day before). He would rather quit/get fired instead of work another day in the situation he was working in. I'm not going to go into details of why because if  you're close enough to us you know. Let's just say things were said that weren't meant to be talked about on the job and Jordan was tired of putting up with it. His job was the only source of income for us considering I'm 30 weeks pregnant. Jordan talked with my parents first before talking to me about it because he wanted to get some things figured out because he didn't want to stress me out. Stress + Me = Early Labor. I am so proud of the way he handled the situation and how was I suppose to stress out about it when he promised me he had everything under control and all we had to do was trust in God.

By the end of the night he had already had one interview scheduled for a Painter's Apprentice in Daytona Beach for Friday morning at 7:30. We were able to go to bed with a piece of mind that things are going to be okay. I was looking forward to spending all day with my husband (even if that meant driving from place to place putting in job applications) considering I rarely see him while the sun is up. My father also decided to help us put in a few job applications and take Jordan to see the Army recruiter considering he has put off going to the recruiter because he never has a weekday off. So things were looking up for the weekend and I don't think anything could really get us down at that point. We would be excited if just one thing went right for us on Friday.

We show up at the interview and everything he said went great. The boss was going to give him a call back on Saturday to let him know if he had the job or not. Being a painters apprentice, we weren't going to have any benefits and he would have to be on call 24 hours. It was a job. We then met up with my father back in DeLand and we headed to the recruiters station. While we have never received good news from the recruiter since we are going through the Permanent Resident Card replacement process with homeland security because his wallet was stolen in October along with his social security card. That's another story with how long the process is taking and most other jobs wouldn't hire him unless he had the hard copies even though we have verification papers, anyways. The recruiter went fantastic. Jordan actually had questions answered and was told what he needed to do to start to process again since being medically discharged from the early entry program with the marines back in 2011 due to having to go on 9 months of hard core antibiotics. All Jordan had to do was bring back his passport/visa, birth certificate, and high school diploma and they could start the process with him and even expedite the permanent resident card process! Everything was going our way. We put in a few more job applications before calling it a day and went out for a much needed date night.

While we were in the dollar theater watching 42 (Jackie Robinson movie which part of his story took part in DeLand) Jordan received another phone call about an interview. This interview was set up for Monday at 7:30 for VOLUSIA COUNTY SCHOOLS as a groundskeeper! Now we just needed to hear back from the painters job and we did the following day.

Jordan got the job as the painters apprentice and he asked if he could go to the 7:30 "appointment" and come into work afterwards. His new boss said no. We were torn now so Jordan asked if he could call back in an hour and give his new boss an answer. Jordan has never had the opportunity to choose between two jobs. We were like do we turn down a definite job for a better job interview? After talking it out we decided to trust God again and go with our gut feeling. Jordan turned down the job offer to go to the interview on Monday and it was one of the best decisions we ever made!

Jordan knocked the job interview out of the park. He was hired on the spot, filled out all the paperwork, and received his employee handbook. When he came back to the jeep two hours after his interview started we were off to Labcorp to get his drug test and to UPS for him to get fingerprinted. Everything fell into place and this job is an amazing opportunity with possible benefits after a certain time period. He should start early next week.

While we are 100% grateful for the opportunity he had at his old job because it gave us a starting position in a new state as a new family we are even thankful for the new one. NO more 3:30 A.M. wake up calls, NO more coming in after midnight to only sleep a few hours and go back, NO more of him being overworked and underpaid, and NO more wondering what hours he'll be working.

While we don't know 100% of all the details we do know the he has a set schedule Monday thru Friday 6:30-3:30 which means I have my husband back. We can plan TOGETHER for the arrival of our first son. I was so excited to schedule the birth center tour for Monday that I've been putting off for weeks because I didn't want to go without Jordan and now I can schedule some last minute parenting classes as well. Jordan can come to my doctors appointments & ultrasounds, we can work together getting the nursery together, and we get to spend some much needed quality Husband & Wife time together before our son arrives in September.

Thank You to everyone that has been praying for our situation and I want everyone to know that God works everything out as long as you trust in him. We thought we would be struggling to make ends meet until he starts his job but God has blessed us in more ways than just the job. My mother-in-law gave us a belated wedding present of BRAND NEW tires for the jeep which were very much needed as our tires were starting to split. Since his pay is backed a week from his old job  he has two set weeks of pay checks and God is still blessing us. My old OB in North Carolina sent us a pretty check in the mail because we over paid and we even picked up a baby sitting job this week so God is truly showing us what can happen when we trust in him. Thanks to the extra income we are finally able to schedule an eye exam for Jordan and get his some new contacts since his glasses have broke at least 4 times and super glue is holding them together. Just keep trusting in him no matter what and he'll take care of it.

I hope everyone enjoy's celebrating their FREEDOM today and the birthday of this amazing country we are able to live in. Be thankful for the small things in life that some people take for granted. You never know when life is going to throw a lemon or two your way.

Until Next Time
XOXO
