Coupon Lingo


Here is a list of all the coupon lingo's that make it easier when you are on matchup sites or writing about deals that you find. If you have any questions please let me know.

Sunday Inserts:
P&G = Procter & Gamble (comes once a month on the first Sunday of the month)
RP = RedPlum
SS = SmartSource

You will usually see something like this: (SS 7/14/13)

The Lingo:
$1/1, $1/2: One dollar off one item, one dollar off two items, etc.
2/$1, 3/$5: Two items for one dollar, one dollar off two items,  etc. (You don't have to buy 3 items to get them all for $5 so one item would be $1.67 if you only wanted to buy one)
B1G1/BOGO: Buy one get one item (can be free or discounted
B2G1: Buy two items get one item
Blinkies: Grocery/drugstore coupon dispensers with blinking lights
Catalina: Catalina coupons, prints from a separate machine when your receipt prints (grocery stores)
Ea.: Each
ECBs: ExtraCare Bucks, CVS loyalty rewards system
Exp.: Expires
GC: Gift Card
IP: Internet printable coupon
MFG/MFR/MQ: Manufacturer Coupon
MIR: Mail in rebate
OOP: Out of pocket
OYNO: On your next order
Peelie: Coupons on the product packaging that you peel off (you must peel off and hand to cashier)
Q: Coupon
Stacking: Using both a manufacturer's coupon and a store coupon on one item
Tearpad: Coupons available on a pad in store, usually hanging near the item
UPC: Universal product code, bar code
WYB: When you buy
